Drawing Numbers

AutoCAD Electrical offers many drawing specific values that can be assigned to a drawing. The one I am going to talk about today is Drawing Number.  A Drawing Number is assigned at the drawing level in the drawing configuration dialog box.  Depending on what version of AutoCAD Electrical you are using the dialog box might look differet from my screen image below.

The dialog can be accessed from the ACE:Main Electrical 2 toolbar as shown below.

In AutoCAD Electrical 2007 you will populate the Drawing Number field on the first tab of the dialog box.  In AutoCAD Electrical 2006 and previous versions you will populate the Drawing Number field in the right hand column.

The Drawing Number can be used for a couple of things in AutoCAD Electrical.

The Drawing Number is a replacable Parameter that can be used in the Drawing List Display Configuration (Only works in 2007, previous versions it does not work for some reason) (see http://robstein.blogs.com/rob_stein_knowledge_cente/2006/02/chang_the_way_y.html). it can also be mapped for Automatic Title Block Updates.

I hope this helps.
